Dr. Les Newman is a native of Louisiana.  He graduated summa cum laude from
Louisiana State University with a degree in Biochemistry in 1984.  Dr. Newman graduated with honors in 1988 from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans, then went on to residency training in Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, followed by advanced specialty training in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville.  He established the Allergy and Asthma Center in Murfreesboro in 1994.  Dr. Newman is Board Certified in Allergy-Immunology and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology​.
